How we look after your clients' records

Your clients' records pass through our hands. Here is how we look after them.

Who works on your clients' records

Our team, only for the work you send us

  • Our team of accountants prepares the work.
  • We keep your clients' records confidential.
  • We never sell your clients' records. We use them only for the work you sent us, unless the law allows or requires otherwise.
  • We don't contact your clients.

Where records are kept

Kept in our systems, not on desks or in inboxes

  • We ask you to send records through our client portal, gahak.dhan.com, over an encrypted connection.
  • They are kept in our own systems and with the service providers we use to run them. Some of those providers may hold information outside Australia.
  • We keep records for as long as the law and our engagement require, then delete them.

Tax file numbers

We collect and use tax file numbers only for the tax work you send us, as the Privacy (Tax File Number) Rule 2015 allows. We don't use them to identify anyone or match records, and we don't show them where they aren't needed. We delete or de-identify them when they are no longer needed for a lawful purpose.

If something goes wrong

Data breaches

If a breach is likely to cause serious harm, we tell your firm. We also tell the people affected and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner, as the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme requires.
